The Team
Meet Heather
I began my career as a social worker in 1994, shortly after graduating from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. As a social worker, I briefly worked with chronically mentally ill adults in the group home setting, ran a low-income grant housing program, but mostly, was a child abuse investigator. I attended the University of Oregon, School of Law, where I graduated in 2002 in the top third of my class. Following law school, I relocated to Reno, Nevada, where I began my career as a Judicial Clerk in the Family Court and continued working with children and families. After leaving Reno, I worked both as a contract attorney, and also resolved special education complaints for the state of Washington before hanging out my own shingle. All told, I have over twenty years of combined experience in helping families through their difficult times.
I am also a mom to two biological and three bonus kids; a wife, a divorcee and a widow; a loving and loyal daughter, sister, niece and friend. I have survived the loss of a spouse and a parent and despite being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis over a decade ago, I have never let it get the best of me. I am also very sarcastic.
Meet Desire
After many years in the hospitality industry and attending random community college classes, I decided to make a commitment and received my Associates of Applied Scinece in Paralegal Studies in 2002.
Doors opened and I became a paralegal in Salem, Oregon, then went on to be a commercial property manger of art studios, and then an office manager of a small teck firm in Portland, Oregon. In 2021, Heather approached me over coffee sharing how she created a paralegal position for me and in 2022, I accepted.
I am a mom of two incredible children with my very patient partner. I enjoy eating food I haven’t had to cook, taking terrible photographs, engaging in conversations with people I meet on the street, and any opportunity to sing poorly to songs released prior to 2008.
